This Wooden Chasen Kusenaoshi Is Designed To Restore The Shape Of Your Matcha Stirrer. Unlike The Ceramic Kusenaoshi, Which Can Only Reshape The Outer Tines, The Internal Shape Of This Wooden Tine Presses The Inner Ring Of Tines Together, Restoring Their Original Shape.
These Tools Are Often Referred To As “Whisk Holders” Or “Whisk Holders”, With The More Accepted Term Being Kusenaoshi As They Are Primarily Designed To “Correct” The Shape Of The Tea Whisk Rather Than Use For Storage. To Use Kusenaoshi, Soak The Blender In Warm Water, Just Like You Would When Making Matcha. Then, Press The Whisk Gently But Firmly Into The Kusenaoshi, Spreading The Outer Tines And Pressing The Inner Tines Together As Needed. This Should Only Be Done With A Wet Blender, As Bamboo Becomes More Pliable Under The Action Of Heat And Moisture.
While You Can Use Kusenaoshi To Store Your Beater, We Generally Recommend Letting The Chasen Dry Upright So That Mold Does Not Grow On The Tines.
